So things are getting real with Drawn in Blood volume 2! We have several artists who’ve already sent in finished pages and others who have completed all of their layouts and are proceeding to their final soon.
Newcomer Adan Contreras is killing it, his story is trippy and he was a total pro by including the lettering in his layouts (finally doing that myself- just need to pick a few winning fronts from my collection of 2000 or so, LOL).

Returning from Volume 1, Tre Davis is blasting through his story about aliens with spacecraft-trouble, here are some pencils from him. The inks (I will share next time) are looking even better!

Ana Maria Sandu is illustrating a story by my longtime friend and filmmaker Nick Gregorio. These are some character designs for the story a fishing trip gone south.
Jay Kennedy shared these concepts for J. Hammond’s story about the sole survivor of a shipwreck.

The disaster I spoke of happened when I tried using frisket (a mask to block watercolor from certain sections) on a piece for the Power in Numbers show (both my pieces were rejected, but I’m glad I finally submitted after years of wanting to try out). I embraced the suck, and recovered, saving the work. This is the same ink and watercolor technique I want to use for my pages, so it was good practice and I will probably make the pieces either a reward or do something like a raffle for the Kickstarter. More of the disaster (and recovery!) on my Instagram.

Talk to you soon!
